To the citizens of the 49th Senate district,

I am honored by the overwhelming support in Tuesday's special election.  It is a great honor to be your senator, however the position belongs to the people, I merely hold the title.

These are challenging days for Georgia.  The General Assembly recently completed a difficult session.  Severe cuts were made to even the most essential state services, such as public safety and education.  Unfortunately, the latest revenue figures are not encouraging.  I am going to spend the remainder of this year with representatives of our state agencies and learn everything I can about the integral workings of state government. ...Read more .....

Thanks to everyone for their vote during the July 20th Republican Primary!

• Teresa and I attended the P.U.R.E. Celebration sponsored by Zachariah's Way.  What a great night of fellowship.

The mission of Zachariah's Way is to help churches become more aware of and how to better minister to special needs people and their families. 

• Once again, Memorial Park Funeral Home did an outstanding job with their Public Servants BBQ.  Over 6000 plates of BBQ served!!!  Thank you to all the men and women who serve our community and country – and thank you to Jack Frost, Kevin Wetzel and all of the Memorial Park staff and volunteers for their hard work.

• A BIG THANK YOU to Charlie Company for their service in Afghanistan and their dedication to our country. It was nice to see everyone that came out to show support of our troops. We appreciate Operation Patriot's Call for organizing the celebration.
